about

Any funds paid toward this album/track go to support j. huzzah's son's cystic fibrosis. (Or, more accurately, the fight against it.)

lyrics

It began like other days
The classroom in a haze
Exhausted wallow into stagnation
(lonely Mona Lisa)
But a woman with that name
Refused to say the same
She cast her eyes out to the horizon.
Outside the problems looked almost as drab
It all blended into a smudge
Pollution and crime in perpetual time
Without any sign of a budge
But somewhere she saw herself playing again
A girl and a horse in the hay
A place where all the world could fall away

She wants to up and ride
Sweep all the woes aside
And take fast hold of her imagination
(lonely Mona Lisa)
Somewhere nestled deep within
She found her silly grin
And galloped on without a hesitation

Outside the sky was as dull as a sock
That’s the color of overcast gray
Inside of her room
Was a coating of gloom
That her candles could not burn away
Forward and backward the path was obscured
The right and left covered with snow
Leaving one direction she could go:

Up! Up! Up! Up!
Up! Up! Up! Up!

She went to bust a move
To see her namesake at the Louvre
A painting of museum veneration
When cowgirls get the blues
It’s time to switch the hues
Until they find some sweet rejuvenation
Tasting each color, her palette grew full
Licked her lips and left for the sea
With her tornado smile
She planned to beguile a seahorse bounding straight for Paris
As she spun her tales the fishes and whales
Accompanied her on her way
To see just what the Mona Lisa’d say:

Giddy Up!

(With a name like Mona Lisa, won’t the children tease ya?
They say you act far from respectable.
They say you’re as thick as cold molasses
Regarding your eye glasses
Cause you insist on making spectacles)

about

yoho chimpo Astoria, Oregon

Effervescent. Tangy. Juicy. Bittersweet. Yoho chimpo exists only in the mind of the beholder. The band, j. huzzah! Grilch, and Tylor Neist slow-roast their albums. Perfect flavor takes time.
